What a Blast…

The Lost Prophets, The Libertines and the return of Guns N Roses, the line-up was set to light up the stage at Leeds & Reading Festival .

Day 1, Rock Day at Reading: Pulled Apart by Horses ignited the daytime show, Biffy Clyro embraced the bleach blonde look and Queens of the Stone Age truly rocked it up to take the limelight. Thankfully the day was rescued by these bands as the highly anticipated return of Guns N Roses was suppressed with a late arrival!

Renowned for being the infamous rock stars they are, it’s almost guaranteed that Guns N Roses will rock up a couple of hour’s late but then smash out a pretty remarkable performance.

This time round though the band took to the stage only a measly hour late, fairly impressive, and had their set cut marginally short but turned out a show that was what can only be described as an insult to the Gunners Fans, simply unmemorable really. Yes the likes of Welcome To The jungle and November Rain, some of the all time favourites cannot be ignored, but all in all disappointing.

The Libertines rekindled the good ol’ days on the Leeds leg. A whole day was packed with the Indie Crowd but succeeded by The Cribs who were best of the bunch. It took a bit of time to get into the flow as The Libertines tuning problems were pleasantly blocked by the crowd. Mind you it was never going to be a smooth performance with Pete Doherty on the scene.
